Story & Mission

Loyi means “warmth”—representing a brand built on heritage, purpose, and modern empowerment. The idea for Loyi came to life following a deeply personal transition. After a long corporate career in labor law compliance and employee relations, I embraced motherhood. While becoming a mother was beautiful, my postpartum period was incredibly heavy. I truly struggled to find who I was and felt a deep loss of my own individuality. Yet, this struggle is exactly what led me back to my roots. I realized if I could feel this lost, women with far fewer privileges must face even greater hurdles. Advocating for women had always been close to my heart, but now it was time to create a space for them to achieve true financial independence.

Loyi is entirely women-led and women-made, dedicated to empowering women who have no access to a livelihood by giving them a chance to bring to life their age-old embroidery and crochet techniques. We create sustainable employment for women and girls right in their own homes, overcoming the geographic and societal barriers that keep them from traveling for work. By seamlessly blending this heritage with modernity, we bring their traditional craft into an international space.

Join us in our mission by adopting slow, sustainable, and handcrafted creations.
